The Art of Capturing Human Learning

The Edmond J. Safra Brain Research Center for the Study of Learning Disabilities was established at the University of Haifa in 2008 by the late Prof. Zvia Breznitz’s extraordinary vision.

The Center is a recognized leader in cutting-edge research in the areas of literacy and numeracy assessment and remedial instruction for at-risk learners. Our activities include training and instruction development in the educational field, from a practical point of view based on empirical research examining neurobiological, cognitive, affective, socio-emotional and academic foundations of school and preschool learning in the multiple languages of Israel (Hebrew, Arabic and English).

The Edmond J. Safra Center is comprised of researchers in  with a broad interdisciplinary expertise and established record of achievement which support cross-fertilization, and foster significant scientific advances and discoveries in the field Learning Disabilities.

Candidacy for  Post Doctorate Scholarships at the Edmond J. Safra  Center

The Edmond J. Safra Brain Research Center for the Study of Learning Disabilities was established in 2008 and is an innovative center that integrates research in the fields of brain, education and learning disabilities.

The participating researchers in the Center come from the fields of psychology, neuropsychology, brain research, medicine and computer science.

We are currently focusing our long-term research on Hebrew and Arabic, where we follow children’s progress from kindergarten through elementary school. The research is designed to examine the complex links between reading development, calculation, administrative function and feelings, and the role of parents in the educational system.

Within the framework of this long-term research, the Center is offering  2 post-doctorate scholarships for the upcoming academic year, 2022-2023. These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of excellence and interest.
