Our team studies the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying attention and memory in humans—children, adolescents, and adults—with a focus on the neuro-behavioral and developmental constraints on these mechanisms and abilities. We use a variety of research techniques, including behavioral tests that aim to explore how attention and memory processes support academic performance, as well as physiological measurements and brain-imaging techniques that aim to explore the biological and neural substrates underlying literacy development and the mastery of academic abilities.
