About: Dr. Baha Makhoul received her Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, investigating Arabic reading acquisition among At-linguistic risk children. She has finished her Post-doctoral studies, examining the development of reading skills among normally-developing readers and linguistically at-risk children for from kindergarten to second grade among Arabic native speaking children, in 2012 in the department for learning disabilities at the University of Haifa. Currently, she is a senior lecturer and researcher at Oranim Academic College for Education and serving as a senior academic consultant at the NCJW (Research Institute for Innovation in Education) – The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Since 2007, she has been serving as the head of the Arabic Section at Literacy and Language Arts Department in the Center for Educational technology (CET). Additionally, she is the head of the learning disabilities M.A. program at the Arab Academic College for Education in Israel – Haifa.

- Diglossia and its impact on Reading and writing acquisition in Arabic.

- The Golden Triangle for Enhancing Literacy among Arabic Speaking Students in the Junior High School – the Implementation of a Learning/Teaching Model to Foster Knowledge of Academic Vocabulary in the Mother Tongue.
